Nvidia sales grow 78% on AI demand

NVIDIA has reported impressive financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2025, demonstrating significant advancements in AI supercomputing. The company's Q4 revenue reached an all-time high of $39.3 billion, marking a 78% increase compared to the previous year. The Data Center segment alone contributed $35.6 billion, reflecting a remarkable 93% surge year-over-year. This growth is primarily attributed to the Blackwell AI supercomputers' successful launch and large-scale production, which generated billions in sales during their first quarter. CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the extraordinary demand for Blackwell, emphasizing its critical role in enhancing AI capabilities across various industries.
In contrast, AMD reported a record Q4 2024 revenue of $7.7 billion, with the Data Center segment achieving $3.9 billion, a 69% increase year-over-year. This growth was driven by the increased adoption of EPYC processors and over $5 billion in Instinct accelerator sales for the year. CEO Dr. Lisa Su expressed optimism for continued expansion, citing the strength of AMD's product portfolio and the rising demand for high-performance computing solutions.
Intel, meanwhile, reported Q4 2024 Data Center and AI segment revenue of $3.4 billion, with an operating income of $200 million. While Intel remains a significant player in the industry, its data center revenue falls short compared to both NVIDIA and AMD, highlighting a competitive landscape in the AI and supercomputing sectors.
NVIDIA's leadership in AI supercomputing is further reinforced by its involvement in the $500 billion Stargate Project and its collaborations with major cloud service providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. These partnerships address the growing demand for AI capabilities, positioning NVIDIA at the forefront of technological innovation.
As the AI and supercomputing markets continue to expand, NVIDIA's strong financial performance and strategic initiatives underscore its pivotal role in shaping the future of technology.
