Finalists Announced in Itanium Solutions Alliance Innovation Contest

Developers and end users recognized for innovative Itanium 2-based solutions. The Itanium Solutions Alliance today announced the finalists in the Itanium Solutions Alliance Innovation Contest. The 25 finalists each demonstrated the full computing potential of Itanium 2-based systems through innovative software development and unique end user deployment. Each finalist is competing to receive a $50,000 cash prize or charitable donation in one of three categories: Humanitarian Impact Innovation, Enterprise Business Application and Entrepreneurial Innovation. To determine Innovation Contest winners, the judging panel, comprised of seven industry experts, will review each entry on the difficulty of the challenge, the results produced and originality of the solution. The Itanium Solutions Alliance will announce the Innovation Contest winners on April 17 at Intel Developer Forum in Beijing and Gelato ICE: Itanium Conference and Expo.
  • Humanitarian Impact Innovation finalists include: Cineca, Gencom, Imperial College, Interactive Supercomputing Inc., Stanford University, Stony Brook University, the University of Houston and the University Karlsruhe Weather Computing Center and Flow Simulation Computing Center.
  • Enterprise Business Application finalists include: University Competence Center, Infosys, Kindred Healthcare, McLaren Racing, Peter Service, Royal London Group, SIVECO Group, Southwest University and SWsoft.
  • Entrepreneurial Innovation finalists include: Amadeus Data Processing GmbH, Intersoft Lab, NextAxiom Technology Inc., Platforms Solutions Inc., S7 Software Solutions, Secure64 Software Corp. and University of California – Riverside.
