Mellanox Technologies has announced the immediate availability of InfiniBand adapters that have passed Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs testing for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 operating systems. The software stack was developed through the OpenFabrics Alliance (www.openfabrics.org) and is suited for deployment of high-performance, scalable and reliable InfiniBand connected clusters in Windows Server-based environments. This is evidence of Mellanox’s commitment to produce the highest quality adapter products designed to maximize Windows-based cluster performance, reliability and productivity. “Microsoft is pleased to collaborate with Mellanox to deliver the performance and scalability of InfiniBand for Windows Server 2003 and Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003,” said Shawn Hansen, director of HPC marketing, Windows Server Division at Microsoft Corp. “By achieving Microsoft Windows Hardware Logo qualification, Mellanox has a compelling proof-point for our most demanding customers that InfiniBand is ready for primetime deployment.” With this accomplishment, Mellanox 20Gb/s InfiniBand adapters, known for their industry-leading high-bandwidth, low-latency and low CPU overhead characteristics, now carry the “Designed for Windows” logo from Microsoft. “The combination of Mellanox InfiniBand and Microsoft Windows Server provides maximum performance, efficiency, and ROI for our mutual customers,” said Thad Omura, vice president of product marketing. “We are delighted to work with Microsoft and together offer the highest quality adapters in the market for Windows-based platforms.” The WHQL-qualified InfiniBand stack for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 will be available from Mellanox’s website and from other leading InfiniBand system providers in the future.
