University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Project Manager
Overview:
The National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has a Project Manager position available. The Project Manager supports a group of faculty and technology specialists who are developing means of applying digital technologies to humanities disciplines and who are engaging campus, international, and educational communities in these efforts (hereafter called the Center's "workscope"). The Project Manager is responsible for providing liaison between technology specialists at I-CHASS and those working in the humanities to identify existing and emerging tools that have applicability to the humanities disciplines, while also facilitating an exchange between these two communities that will foster the next generation of digital technology for the humanities. The Project Manager will integrate long-range strategic directions of the Center, establishing goals and timelines with staff, and ensuring that staff and resources are directed efficiently toward achieving these goals within the specified timelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in management or related field is required. Master's degree preferred. Alternative degree fields will be considered/accepted if accompanied by equivalent experience (depending on nature and depth of experience as it relates to current NCSA technologies). 6 or more years experience in project management/program management in a complex work environment preferred. Experience in proposal/grant writing and program budgeting and financial management experience in a complex and dynamic environment of numerous short and long term projects. This is an academic professional position at NCSA and is a 12-month, 100%-time appointment with regular University benefits. Salary commensurate with experience. Start date will be as soon as possible after the close of the search.
