The National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has one Technical Program Manager position available. The Innovative Systems Lab at NCSA is investigating emerging computer technologies in order to evaluate their potential to serve future scientific computational needs. As a significant part of this division's effort, we are forming a new group dedicated to systems performance analysis. This group's responsibilities include the analysis, simulation and modeling of emergent innovative computer systems under current and potential future applications and workloads. We are seeking a technical program manager to build this new group, provide solid technical leadership, and manage the staff and projects in the group. Qualifications: * Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering required, Ph.D preferred. Alternative degree fields will be considered/accepted if accompanied by equivalent experience (depending on nature and depth of experience as it relates to current NCSA technologies). * Also required is a combination of education and experience demonstrating mastery of performance analysis, system modeling and simulation, along with an understanding of scientific research. * At least 5 years professional project management and/or software development team management experience or total of 10 years professional experience beyond the educational requirement. This is an academic professional position at NCSA and is a 12-month, 100%-time appointment with regular University benefits. Salary commensurate with experience.
