Voltaire Continues Global Expansion with New Offices in New York and Tokyo
Company Addresses Increased Demand for High Performance InfiniBand Solutions in Wall Street Data Centers and Asian Markets -- Voltaire today announced that it has opened new offices in the financial district of New York City and Tokyo, Japan. The offices will focus on sales and marketing of Voltaire’s InfiniBand-based hardware and software solutions that serve as the “backbone” for high performance clusters and grids. Wall Street institutions are turning to InfiniBand at an ever-increasing rate to serve as the high performance data center interconnect. Unlike competing 10 Gigabit solutions, InfiniBand offers higher bandwidth, lower latency, connectivity for both servers and storage, and virtualization capabilities at competitive price points. Earlier this year, Voltaire introduced a low latency market data solution using InfiniBand. Using the solution, businesses can substantially reduce end-to-end application latency as well as gain linear scalability to address higher market data and trading volumes. Voltaire’s New York City office is led by Mr. Amir Prescher, Vice President of Business Development and co-founder of Voltaire. In Asia, Voltaire has experienced a dramatic increase in demand from both research/academia and commercial market segments. Voltaire’s investment in the region builds on existing successful partnerships and customer successes including Tokyo Institute of Technology, which is building Japan’s largest supercomputer using Voltaire solutions. Voltaire’s other Asian customers represent world renowned companies from the manufacturing, geosciences, automotive and higher education industries. Voltaire’s Tokyo office is led by Dr. Satoshi Shiba, Regional Director, APAC. Prior to Voltaire, Dr. Shiba was the Regional Sales Director for OEM and new business development in greater China for Brocade Communications Systems. Dr. Shiba has experience in storage system development, technical support, pre-sales, sales and sales management. Dr. Shiba has worked in Japan, the United States and greater China. Dr. Shiba has a Ph.D degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in precision machinery systems. “We are pleased to be expanding our presence in two key geographies,” said Ronnie Kenneth, chairman and CEO, Voltaire. “It represents Voltaire’s rapid growth rate and supports the ever-growing demand for InfiniBand-based solutions. The new offices in New York and Tokyo will solidify our leadership on Wall Street and in Asia and improve the support and services we can provide to these important customers.” Voltaire To Participate in Upcoming Events in Asia Voltaire will exhibit its solutions at Grid Asia 2006, May 16 – 19, 2006 in Singapore.
