NCSA Position Notice -- Visiting Postdoctoral Research Associate
NCSA Position Notice, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Visiting Postdoctoral Research Associate Persistent Infrastructure Directorate, High-End Computing Division -- Overview: The National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has one Visiting Postdoctoral Research Associate position available. This position will work on the GridChem project funded by NSF, under the NMI division to deploy production cyber infrastructure for computational chemistry communities. The candidate will be well versed in programming in Java and will be familiar with computational chemistry software, particularly with quantum chemical applications and will work in a collaborative environment with national and international collaborators. Experience in high performance computing with emphasis on parallel and distributed computing will be a useful adjunct. Familiarity with Grid Computing and Web services and XML will be a plus. This is a one year position based on the Grant. Extension may be possible but depends on availability of grants and performance of the candidate. Compensation will be competitive. Qualifications: Ph. D. degree in any science/engineering field, (Chemistry preferred) with programming experience Proficient in Java programming with client/server communications Knowledge/experience with High-performance Computing, Distributed Computing and On-demand computing Unix/Linux programming experience.
