Exclusive Event Allows Visitors to Compare New Panoramic Head-Mount Display with Immersive CAVE and Other Virtual Reality Systems -- Sensics, the panoramic virtual reality display company, and the 3D and Virtual Reality labs at the University of Michigan, today announced that they are collaborating to showcase leading virtual reality technologies side-by-side, allowing virtual reality users to compare different high-end approaches to immersive virtual reality displays. The week-long invitation-only event will take place at the 3D lab within the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus, starting June 12th, 2006. It will feature the new piSight panoramic head-mount display (HMD) by Sensics, an immersive CAVE, as well as a rich assortment of 3D equipment already present at the lab. High-quality 3D content that is relevant for auto design, training and simulation, architecture and education applications will be available for side-by-side comparison. "Both the 3D and the Virtual Reality labs at the University of Michigan have long been on the forefront of practical innovation," says Dr. Klaus-Peter Beier, Director of the labs.
