New Absoft Fortran Compilers for Windows

Absoft Corporation today announced the new top-performing Absoft Fortran Compiler v10.0 for 64-bit Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server (CCS) 2003 running on Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron processors. Prices start as low as $299 and the product will begin shipping in May, 2006. The new Absoft Fortran Compiler v10 for 64-bit Windows implements the complete Fortran 95 standard and is based on Absoft’s new v10 top-performing Fortran technology recently released for 64-bit Linux systems. Independently published benchmarks from Polyhedron Ltd indicate that the new code generation and advanced optimization technology in Absoft Fortran v10 Compilers outperforms all other 64-bit Fortran compilers on both 64-bit Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron processors. “Absoft is experiencing similar results on performance tests with our new v10 compilers for 64-bit Windows – that is, our new Fortran compilers out-perform all other Fortran compilers for 64-bit Windows” said Wood Lotz, Absoft chief executive officer. "Absoft's Fortran compiler produced the fastest and most efficiently optimized code on the two hardware platforms we used for testing the AERMOD Air Quality Modeling code. We discovered that the reason Absoft Fortran is faster is that it used some optimization magic to reduce branching instruction and TLB miss rates when compared to the competition. As a result Absoft Fortran execution time is comfortably ahead of the nearest competitor by 18%" said George Delic, C.E.O., HiPERiSM Consulting, LLC. The new Absoft Fortran v10 for 64-bit Windows is the perfect tool for developers to start migrating 32-bit applications to 64-bit Windows to take advantage of the extended 64-bit memory capabilities and superior performance. Absoft Fortran v10 for 64-bit Windows is source-compatible with Absoft Pro Fortran for 32-bit Windows, Absoft Pro Fortran for 32-bit Mac OS X, and all other Absoft Fortran compilers for 32-bit and 64-bit Linux on x64 and POWER, allowing easy application migration from other environments requiring little more than recompiling an application. Absoft Fortran compilers for Windows are fully compatible with Microsoft .NET. ISV partners are also touting the merits of Absoft Fortran solutions. "The Absoft Fortran compiler family v10 demonstrates high-performance, high-reliability and completeness in language support for 64-bit environments. Absoft Fortran compilers are definitely a highly valued companion of MATFOR" said Simon Su, CTO, AnCAD, Inc. The new Absoft Fortran compilers for 64-bit Windows are initially available in two different packages. Absoft Express Fortran is a new low cost 12-month subscription license that creates perpetual applications. Absoft Express Fortran is an excellent alternative for cost sensitive or short-term projects.
