April 17 Deadline for Submitting Tech Papers, Tutorials, Workshops, Panels, SC Global, and Gordon Bell Prize Entries — SC06, the premier international conference on high performance computing, networking and storage, is now accepting submissions for the conference Technical Program. sponsored by ACM and IEEE. SC06, under the theme "Powerful Beyond Imagination," will be held November 11-17, 2006, in Tampa, Fla. Submissions are now being sought for: • Technical Papers • Tutorials • Panels • Workshop proposals • SC Global sessions • Education Program • Gordon Bell Prize The deadline for submissions these areas is Monday, April 17. Notices of intent to participate in the HPC Analytics Challenge and the ACM Student Research Competition are also due by April 17. Sample submission forms and instructions available at: its Web site. “With annual SC attendance now approaching 10,000, the conference is clearly the world’s leading forum for exchanging ideas and accomplishments,” said SC06 General Chair Barbara Horner-Miller. “Participating in the SC06 Technical Program allows you to share your knowledge with your peers while gaining international recognition for your expertise.” The Technical Papers program is seeking original papers reporting experimental or theoretical results, novel designs, case studies, science and industry applications, and trend-setting ideas at the intersections of those areas. Proposals for tutorials are being solicited for introductory to advanced level, full-day (6 hours) or half-day (3 hours) sessions and may include hands-on exercises. A distinguished panel of experts will competitively choose tutorials. Suggested topic areas are listed at: its Web site. For SC06, the deadline for Workshop proposal submissions has been moved up. This year, the committee will be considering two categories of workshops: small informal meetings without a peer-reviewed program; and mini-conferences with a peer-reviewed program. Acceptance criteria will include workshop topic relevance to the SC06 Technical Program, its likelihood to repeat for several years, and the potenti al for the topic area to be absorbed into future SC programs. SCGlobal'06, which will focus on collaborative tools and programs, encourages submissions on all forms of high-end technologies implementing collaborative tools and programs that enable people to work together at a distance.
