Ningbo Supercomputing Center Is In Full Operation

Ningbo Supercomputing Center of Ningbo University, China, is now in full operation with its 66-processor Linux cluster. The Center was initiated in 2003 with funds from the University to Professors Ji Wang, Engineering Mechanics, and Xiaorong Hou, Mathematics. After prolonged negotiation with several vendors including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Dawning, Clustars, and a few others, the system was eventually built by Dawning. The current configuration offers a peak performance of 240GFLOPS. The system will be used by the educational institutions in China for scientific and engineering computing with current projects in computational mathematics and mechanics. The website of the supercomputing center is at its Web site.
