Net Optics Technology Key Player in SC/05 Bandwidth Challenge
Net Optics, Inc., today announced that its industry-leading 10 GigaBit Tap Technology will support the SC/05 Bandwidth Challenge. SC/05, the premier international conference on high performance computing, networking and storage, sponsors the Bandwidth Challenge open to bleeding-edge technologies that generate and utilize the extreme data flows carried across advanced networks. The throughput amount will be verified using high performance monitoring gear connected to the network with Net Optics 10 GigaBit Regeneration Tap and 10 GigaBit Taps. "Net Optics takes great pride in being at the forefront of technology," said Bob Shaw, Net Optics CEO. "The Bandwidth Challenge is the perfect showcase for our breakthrough 10 GigaBit products, proving once again that Net Optics is ready to meet our customer's needs now and in the future." The 10 GigaBit In-Line Regeneration Tap offers 100% traffic visibility on any network link without requiring an IP address. Attached monitoring devices remain isolated from the network and are protected from attacks. The 10 GigaBit Span Regeneration Tap connects monitoring devices to any two network switch Span ports, enabling independent monitoring of each Span port. For example, when a Span port is connected to the Network A port, the data can be monitored simultaneously on all Monitor A ports. Additionally, a second Span port can be connected to the Network B port and the data can be monitored simultaneously on all Monitor B ports. The data on the Network A and Network B ports always remains separate. The all-optical design of the 10 GigaBit Fiber Tap is optimized and tested for high-performance on 10 GigaBit fiber networks. Available for singlemode and multimode fiber, 10 GigaBit Fiber Taps support passive monitoring of GigaBit links at speeds up to 10,000 Mbps. Requiring no power, the 10 GigaBit Fiber Taps maintain permanent passive access ports without introducing a point of failure or disturbing other network connections. These passive Taps deliver full-duplex monitoring with zero impact on network traffic around the clock.
