First Round of Financing Completed for Grid Start-Up

eXludus Technologies Inc, a pioneer in Grid Computing data serving technologies, today announced that it has secured $1.5 million in seed financing from Brightspark Ventures and Montreal-based Propulsion Ventures. The investment provides eXludus with the capital necessary to complete the development of its innovative data serving technology and launch its first product this summer. eXludus Technologies is developing a family of software products addressing the need to transport data efficiently in Grid Computing applications. In practice, most Grid Computing deployments suffer performance degradation due to data serving bottlenecks, and are ill-prepared to cope with the constantly varying demands placed by networks of computers. eXludus' innovative technology removes data serving limitations and enables larger problems to be solved on larger cluster and Grid deployments than ever before. "The rapid adoption of Grid Computing by industrial and commercial enterprises has placed very substantial data serving pressure which cannot be economically addressed by larger network and file server infrastructure investments " said Benoit Marchand, founder and CEO of eXludus Technologies. " By shifting the Grid Computing paradigm to data activated processing, we can provide the industry with unparalleled efficiency, scalability and robustness and thus significantly enhance the cost efficient nature of Grid Computing". "We are quite enthusiastic by our investment in eXludus. The company is introducing an innovative product solving a critical issue in Grid Computing, which in our mind, is the next revolution in computing " declared Francois Gaouette, Managing Partner at Propulsion Ventures. "Not often does one come across such a talented entrepreneur as Benoit. He is a driven individual with strong credibility, domain expertise and a network of relationship in the industry". "We are very excited about this opportunity. eXludus presents a unique blend of innovative IP, entrepreneurial talent and excellent partner relationships" said Sophie Forest, Managing Partner at Brightspark Ventures. "Benoit's impressive track record and reputation in the technical computing market were significant factors in our investment decision".
