Mellanox Technologies Ltd, a player in high-performance business computing interconnects, today announced that Red Herring has selected Mellanox to the Red Herring Top 100 Europe annual list of the most promising private technology companies. The award comes in the wake of a long and vigorous process of evaluating business models, analyzing profitability forecasts, assessing management teams, and examining technology of entrepreneurial companies. The selection will be officially announced at tonight's Red Herring Venture Market Europe opening event in London. An update on Mellanox and the InfiniBand marketplace will be presented by Eyal Waldman, Chairman and CEO of Mellanox Technologies, on April 14th. "Market adoption of InfiniBand-based solutions is accelerating," stated Waldman. "InfiniBand has gained recognition as the ideal high-performance compute and storage interconnect for enterprise data centers and high-performance computing (HPC) applications. In addition, with industry-leading price/performance, low power and small footprint adapters, InfiniBand stakes the claim as the only 10 gigabit-per-second interconnect used in blade servers." With support from over eight blade server vendors, InfiniBand is increasingly becoming a de facto interconnect solution for dense processing architectures that demand world-class performance in computing and embedded applications.
