vCompute Uses Supercomputing for Crisis Management and Security
Virtual Compute Corporation announced its plans to provide Crisis Management Services, on an "On-Demand" basis, to federal, state and local government agencies and corporate entities. These services have been deployed to provide a secure "Military Grade" underground facility to centralize crisis control during times of emergencies and to provide a secure location for monitoring and replicating critical technical infrastructure 24/7. The vCompute center will also provide secure facilities for key government personnel and corporate executives and secure voice and data communications systems able reach all government agencies such as air, fire, police, and federal emergency management systems. The personnel, supercomputing and communications systems will be protected from any type of chemical, biological or nuclear event. Texas is a primary target for terrorist acts as the petroleum industry has critical infrastructure such as refineries, pipelines and chemical manufacturing. These targets plus the port of Houston are a concern and the need for increased security is becoming a priority. Edward Hawes, the CEO of vCompute, commented that the advanced supercomputing systems provide unlimited capabilities to perform futuristic monitoring of worldwide critical infrastructure. vCompute provides robust, policy-based monitoring systems which takes into account who, what, where, why and when of security events and automates detection and response, utilizing supercomputing power. "This advanced security monitoring can be applied to any environment large or small. Environments such as ports, airport facilities, refineries, even warehouses can be modeled into the system and the supercomputer will detect real-time changes in the environment and identify the response protocol at lightning speed," continued Hawes. "The marriage of supercomputing, security and crisis management gives us some interesting opportunities to assist government agencies and corporations in need of crisis management and business continuity resources. vCompute is going to pioneer a change in the way security is applied to critical environments, making it more reliable and affordable," commented Hawes. The bunker that vCompute houses its operation in is ideally suited for these types of secure operations and vCompute's futuristic approach to securing personnel and technical resources will provide a valuable service especially in the Houston area.
