New Version of ANTs Data Server Available for Evaluation
ANTs software, inc., a developer of high-performance SQL database management systems, today announced the beta release of the next version of its high-performance ANTs Data Server (ADS), a standards-compliant relational database management system that delivers unparalleled throughput in heavy workload applications. The beta version of ADS 2.4 includes a faster JDBC driver, batch insert capabilities, new query compiler optimizations, new SQL features, extensions to the ADS stored procedure language, new high availability features, SNMP support and improved Linux support. The new version is particularly suitable for creating flexible Web, online order processing, and combined online transaction processing (OLTP) and analytic applications (ROLAP). "The ANTs Data Server now brings to Java, stored procedures and triggers, the performance required by high-volume, high peak-load applications," said Cliff Hersh, ANTs chief scientist. "Our version 2.4 beta builds on the strong foundation of previous releases and adds support for more varieties of Linux, new development features, and new management capabilities while improving
performance." The ANTs Data Server is an industry-standard database management system based on a breakthrough, high-performance SQL query execution engine that incorporates innovative, lock-free operations. The ANTs Data Server can be deployed on servers running operating systems by Red Hat and Novell (Linux), Microsoft Corporation (Windows) and Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Solaris). The ANTs Data Server has demonstrated superior performance for heavy workload applications, offering significant cost savings by simplifying database infrastructures. Performance-critical database operations in the financial services, wireless, logistics, and online retail industries can be deployed on fewer, low-cost servers with dramatically reduced license fees and administrative costs. Beta version 2.4 of the ANTs Data Server is available immediately at http://www.antssoftware.com/ants_data_server_2.4_beta.htm , or by calling the company at 650-692-0219, ext. 17.
