Penguin Computing Joins PathScale's FastPath Partner Program

Penguin Computing, a leading provider of highly scalable Linux server and cluster solutions, today announced that it has joined PathScale's FastPath Partner program whereby it will resell PathScale's EKO Compiler Suite with its high-performance Altus AMD Opteron Linux cluster systems and developer workstations. PathScale develops software and hardware solutions to accelerate the performance and efficiency of Linux clusters. The combined solution, which is available immediately from Penguin Computing, allows customers to substantially improve the performance of their Linux-based applications. "Based on our benchmark tests, we're confident that PathScale compilers will enable our Altus customers to substantially enhance the performance of their Linux clusters," said Matt Jacobs, vice president of sales at Penguin Computing. "PathScale compilers can increase overall application performance by as much as 40 percent, representing a tremendous return on investment for our Altus customers." The Penguin Altus servers come in 1U, 2U and 4U enclosures as well as complete pre-configured clusters and dual processor workstations. The PathScale EKO Compiler Suite includes C, C++ and Fortran 77/90/95 compilers. A 30-day free trial version of the PathScale Compiler Suite is available immediately for Penguin Computing customers who want to test the PathScale EKO compilers with their systems.
