SGI, Intel, Engenio Collaborate With SRD

SRD, the leader in identity recognition software, today announced that it will make its ERIK, NORA (non-obvious relationship awareness) and ANNA software available on the SGI Altix platform, based Intel Itanium 2 processor, later this year. Through this collaborative project Silicon Graphics, Intel Corporation and Engenio Information Technologies, Inc. will support SRD during its development and tuning process. The companies will also work together on joint marketing and sales programs for Federal Government customers. "Since its introduction, Altix has proven to be a powerful and scalable platform that delivers actionable intelligence from massive amounts of data," said Anthony Robbins, president, SGI Federal. "SGI Altix running SRD's suite of software allows government agencies to not only view information about an individual or some population of interest, but more importantly, to begin to find and articulate needle-in-a-haystack relationships. This instant analysis can help these agencies to quickly identify potential threats and to avoid targeting individuals who do not pose a threat." SRD's identity recognition platform enables commercial and government organizations to increase their customer and citizen insight beyond the traditional 360-degree view and determine an individual's potential value or potential danger. ERIK extends the capabilities of commercial and government applications by expanding individual identity recognition efforts to provide a more accurate and integrated view of an individual. NORA enables organizations to look beyond the bounds of data directly attributable to an individual by seeking out, integrating and identifying obvious and non-obvious relationships between individuals. ANNA, anonymous identity recognition software, allows two or more organizations to securely compare data about individuals to determine common identities and identify relationships, while protecting privacy. "We are delighted to work with SGI, Intel and Engenio to bring SRD's identity recognition software to the Altix platform," said Charlie Barbour, SRD's senior vice president of engineering. "On Altix, we expect our software to achieve high levels of scalability and performance, and be able to deliver millions of identity resolutions per hour." The SGI® Altix® 3000 family combines SGI® NUMAflex(TM) supercomputing architecture with Intel® Itanium® 2 processors and the Linux® operating system. SGI Altix 3000 is recognized as the first Linux OS-based system to scale to 512 processors in a single-system-image and the first to allow global shared-memory access across nodes. Engenio Information Technologies, Inc., formerly LSI Logic Storage Systems, provides modular, high-performance, disk storage systems and sub-assemblies to SGI. The new versions of SRD's identity recognition software for SGI Altix will be available later this year and will provide support for IBM® DB2® and Oracle® database software.
