Oracle Leads In Independent Research TechRankings

Oracle today announced that Oracle Application Server 10g Enterprise Edition leads four out of the seven individual categories in Forrester Research's newly created "Application Server Platforms" July 2004 TechRankings. Out of five industry-leading products evaluated, Oracle Application Server 10g received top marks in four categories including: Availability and Reliability (4.4); Administration and Management (4.6); Standards and Interoperability (4.3); and Cost (3.4). Working from its independent labs and using vendor research, Forrester developed approximately 300 criteria to evaluate the different Application Server Platforms that include application server, integration server, and portal server capabilities in a unified architecture to make it simpler to develop, deploy, and manage composite applications. "The product is well-known as a bundle of Oracle's middleware products; the surprise was how much progress Oracle has made in weaving its application server, portal server, and integration server into a cohesive platform. Oracle Application Server 10g's administration and management are also strong, and the company's acquisition of Collaxa provides the platform with a leading BPM tool and platform," according to Forrester (Scorecard Summary: Oracle Application Server 10g Enterprise Edition, July 2004).
