SPSS Data Mining Workbench Voted #1 Data Mining Tool in Two Recent Polls

SPSS Inc., the leading provider of predictive analytics, today announced that the leading data mining workbench, Clementine, recently received two top awards, reflecting Clementine's popularity as a results-oriented data mining product, and SPSS' continued leadership in predictive analysis across multiple industries. Business Intelligence magazine, a bimonthly magazine for business intelligence professionals in Spain, evaluated leading offerings from vendors such as IBM, SAS, and SPSS. The magazine's readers and more than 1000 business intelligence professionals participated in the evaluation and ultimately selected SPSS' Clementine as the "Best Data Mining Tool for 2003." KDnuggets News, a data mining and knowledge discovery newsletter, polled more than 600 of its readers, to find out which data mining tool they regularly used. The #1 response was SPSS' Clementine workbench. The second most frequently selected product was SPSS' AnswerTree(R), a data mining tool that offers scalable decision-tree algorithms. Since 2000, KDnuggets has conducted several data and Web mining surveys. In each, Clementine has finished first. KDnuggets polls are available online at www.kdnuggets.com/polls/index.html.
