RLX HPC Cluster Manager Reduces Deployment, Monitoring, and Virtualization Costs

HOUSTON -- RLX Technologies, Inc., the leader in no compromises scale-out blade-server and management solutions, today announced the newest member of the RLX ActivManage family, the RLX HPC Cluster Manager. Initially available for Platform LSF(R) 5 - RLX HPC Cluster Manager is the first HPC cluster management solution designed for RLX ServerBlade clustered environments. RLX HPC Cluster Manager optimizes the performance and utilization of Linux(R)-based clusters, and provides customers with an aggregated view of HPC Clusters. Through the RLX HPC Cluster Manager, even nominally sized HPC clusters of 60 - 70 RLX ServerBlades can realize up to $100,000 annual operational cost savings over standard 1U white box servers using customized HPC cluster scripts. This innovative, leading solution shortens the time of deploying HPC clusters and reduces the cost of maintaining and re-deploying server resources. "RLX is taking a giant step toward virtualization of server resources and the lights out data center," said Scott Farrand, vice president of systems engineering at RLX Technologies. "RLX continues to lead the industry in bringing out the best blade-based server management solutions. By now offering the ability to virtualize the management of clustered server resources, enterprises and research organizations can, once again, significantly lower their operational costs while increasing overall resource utilization. This introduction is consistent with RLX's leadership in helping our customers achieve a 'lights-out' data center." "Platform is pleased that RLX has selected Platform LSF to manage and accelerate batch application workloads in clustered environments," said Ian Baird, Vice President, Marketing and Sales Operations, Platform. "Together, we can give cluster administrators a powerful tool to reduce costs and simplify cluster and grid management."
