SAIC/Boeing LSI Team Enter New Phase for FCS

MCLEAN, Va. -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) announced today that it has signed a contract with Lead Systems Integrator (LSI) teammate Boeing, to execute the recently awarded Department of Defense $14.9 billion contract as the U.S. Army's LSI on the Future Combat Systems (FCS) program. This will be a multi-billion dollar award to SAIC with a period of performance extending through 2010. The contract award follows the Defense Acquisition Board's Milestone B decision to approve the System Development and Demonstration (SDD) phase of the FCS program. Program oversight will transfer from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to the U.S. Army, where a one-team approach is being orchestrated to bring together the Army, the LSI and the best of industry to support the program. "During the initial Concept and Technology Development Phase, we demonstrated a productive and successful partnership with our LSI teammate, Boeing, DARPA, the U.S. Army and the best of industry," said John Gully, SAIC corporate vice president and deputy program manager for the FCS program. "Our LSI team brings a rich set of system and operational architecture development and integration skills to the program. In the next SDD phase, we will continue our commitment to provide our very best capabilities to support the Army in achieving its goals."
