Teradata Deploys the Largest Customer Data Warehouse in Europe
DAYTON, Ohio--Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR), today announced that the Caisse d'Epargne Group, the second-largest savings bank network in France with 4,700 branches, has chosen the Teradata(R) warehouse to integrate and manage the information from its 26 million customers. The new architecture enables the French savings banks to work with a vast amount of up-to-date and standardized customer information. Bringing the data together eliminates the data marts, or disparate databases, that provided only a fragmented view of the customer. The comprehensive view enables the banks' managers to better understanding their customers' financial needs and provide personalized services through the most appropriate channels -- Internet, telephone, automated teller machines or branches. The Teradata warehouse will also be used to provide departments like risk management, marketing, product management, sales and human resources with detailed, current information that can assist in managing the banks. The Caisse d'Epargne savings banks selected Teradata following benchmark testing carried out under real-world operating conditions. The new 30-terabyte Teradata warehouse will be able to manage 2,000 to 2,500 data items per customer.
