This configuration, featuring Sun's binary-compatible SPARC/Solaris(TM) platform, thrusts the Sun Fire V480 server into the price-performance lead, underscoring the value of Sun's entry-level systems with enterprise-strength features at Wintel system price points. The ECperf benchmark focuses on performance at the application tier, modeling a Fortune 100 manufacturing business. These results demonstrate that the Sun Fire V480 server running Oracle9i Application Server is efficient in handling complex and realistic application-tier workloads containing substantial business logic data.
