SC2002 Seeks Proposals for Birds of a Feather Events

BALTIMORE, MD -- SC2002, the annual conference for high performance computing and networking, will offer unique Birds of a Feather (BOF) events, including lunchtime and evening sessions. BOFs provide a venue for conference attendees to gather informally to discuss topics of mutual interest. Previous years have featured subjects such as Linux cluster management, the state of climate modeling, component-based software development, and universal Grid access. The conference will provide meeting room facilities and will post daily schedules for the BOFs, which are open to all conference attendees, including exhibitors and exhibits-only badge holders. BOFs will be scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Nov. 12 -21, from noon to 1 p.m. (Brown Bag BOFs) and 5:30-7 p.m. (Evening BOFs). Proposals for BOFs will be accepted until July 29, 2002. An application form is in the program section of the SC2002 website (www.sc-conference.org/sc2002/program). SC2002 will be held Nov. 16-22, 2002 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
