Schneider Electric Named Official Provider for On-Site High Performance Computing Data Center at SuperComputing 2011
Schneider Electric to Provide Power Support to On-Site HPC Data Center Running All of the Show's High Performance Applications
Schneider Electric was named an official provider of power support for SuperComputing 2011's on-site high performance computing (HPC) data center. Throughout the show, taking place in Seattle November 12-18, 2011, high performance applications will be running through the data center backed by the trusted support of APC by Schneider Electric's Symmetra PX 250 UPS and InfraStruxure 150 kw PDU.
"Schneider Electric's robust portfolio of data center solutions are often tasked to support high performance computers that process incredibly large, intricate applications," said Rob McKernan, Senior Vice President, IT Business, Schneider Electric. "Our solutions range from power and cooling support to complete energy management software solutions. We are pleased to be asked to provide support to the HPC data center at SuperComputing 2011 and to showcase some of the many ways Schneider Electric can support the high performance computing industry."
The Symmetra PX 250 was chosen as the UPS for SC2011, sized to 100KW N+1. Offering ultra-high efficiency, nearly silent operation and N+1 redundancy, the Symmetra PX 250/500kW is the world's first truly modular UPS system that easily scales in 25kW increments up to 500kW. This modular power solution is ideal for growth oriented high density and higher power installations and is key to maximizing virtualization efforts in the data center.
The InfraStruxure 150 kw PDU installed at SuperComputing 2011 provides power distribution and management of the power supplied by the Symmetra PX 250 to equipment racks on-site. The PDU provides full network management capabilities with the ability to deliver data and event logs with notifications that can be configured for single events or groups of events, based on the severity level or category of events.
The SC11 conference continues a long and successful tradition of engaging the international community in high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis. SC11 will place an emphasis on bringing together communities to facilitate information exchange, discussions and new collaborations for research and education related to innovating high performance computing applications and advancing scientific discovery and scholarship.
Schneider Electric offers a complete line of solutions to meet the energy management needs of any high performance computing environment. For more information on these solutions please visit www.schneider-electric.com .
