Edgewater Wireless Wins in Texas

Edgewater Wireless is pleased to announce that it has won a highly competitive trial conducted by J&J Telecom, a Texas-based telecommunications provider building high-performance WiFi networks.

J&J performed a thorough technical evaluation of Edgewater Wireless' multi-channel access points, including deploying multiple units in a very challenging outdoor environment. J&J found that Edgewater Wireless' technology, which is designed to address the fast-growing problem of oversubscribed data communications needs by providing substantially increased bandwidth density, prevailed over its competitors despite a crowded radio frequency environment.

"We needed to provide high-quality Internet coverage to a large number of very expensive yachts in a densely populated marina", said Scott Kellogg, CEO of J&J Telecommunications Inc. "We put a number of products through extensive and rigorous testing looking for a high performance WiFi solution and only Edgewater Wireless' EAP3000 could meet the challenge. J&J is looking forward to expanding its business by deploying EAP3000 products into multiple opportunities. "

The Edgewater Wireless EAP3000 family of products is designed for indoor and outdoor applications and supports up to six unique and independent channels, each of which can be divided into four Virtual Access Points (VAPs) for a total of 24 independently configurable VAPs per AP, delivering the flexibility and performance that meets the requirements of the WISP, Hotspot, Municipal WiFi and Telecommunications Carrier solution providers.

"The success of the J&J Telecom technical evaluation clearly indicates the demand for a new approach to WiFi delivery and Edgewater's multi-channel WiFi radio architecture gives customers what they deserve -- better service and a better product," said Andrew Skafel, President of Edgewater Wireless. "We're excited to be working with J&J and look forward to leveraging their current success into future opportunities."

In addition, the EAP3000 supports advanced network visibility through its Spectral Surveillance Architecture (SSA) which is able to scan the frequency spectrum and identify potential interferers in the network, enabling the operator to remotely optimize performance subsequently reducing the overall cost of ownership and operation.
