Qosmos Enhances ixMachine Probe with High Performance Packet Capture Solution from Myricom

Qosmos has enhanced its ixMachine Probe with Sniffer10G 2.0, the 10-Gigabit Ethernet packet capture technology from Myricom.

Myricom's Sniffer10G 2.0 cybersecurity software paired with Myricom's 10-Gigabit Ethernet adapters provides lossless packet capture and injection at full line rate. The extreme performance of this networking solution provides leading-edge features such lossless packet capture, support for up to 32 concurrent receive buffers, and precision time stamping for all packets, but is also value priced, roughly 1/8 the price of complicated, specialized Ethernet security adapters.

Qosmos worked closely with Myricom and with European distribution partner Stordis to integrate Myri-10G NIC adapters with Sniffer10G 2.0 into the ixMachine, which conducts real time protocol analysis at up to 20Gbps per appliance. Qosmos unique solutions are used by customers such as enterprises, ISPs or mobile network operators that need to conduct fast, large scale analysis of network traffic at an application and protocol level, enabling applications such as QoS monitoring, subscriber analytics, application-based billing or fraud detection.

"Qosmos's customers use our network intelligence technology in the most demanding situations so it is vital we can source components that offer the best match of performance, reliability and price," said Thibaut Bechetoille, CEO of Qosmos. "To stay ahead we need to work with industry-leading suppliers who can deliver on the most advanced requirements."

"Partnering with Qosmos to integrate Myricom's Sniffer10G packet capture solution into their ixMachine Probe has provided substantial benefits," said Dr. Nan Boden, CEO of Myricom. "Qosmos benefits from using a simpler, more cost-effective, packet capture and injection technology within their products. Myricom benefits from working closely with the excellent engineering team at Qosmos to ensure that Sniffer10G meets all their real-world requirements and continues to evolve at the forefront of customer needs."

"Stordis is the high performance distributor who brings best of breed technology to its customers," said Alexander Jeffries, CEO of Stordis. "By partnering with Myricom we have been able to bring leading edge products to market in Europe, which enables our customers like Qosmos to differentiate their own products with innovative features."
