OCF Locks Down Financial Services, Media with Appointment
Lindon Locks, former pre-sales consultant at Allinea Software and systems engineer at SGI will join OCF in a newly formed sales role. Lindon will focus specifically on sales of OCF’s high-performance data storage and data management solutions into media and financial services organisations, primarily in and around the M25 region.
Lindon’s appointment follows that of Keith Vickers and Georgina Ellis in 2011. Both members of the OCF sales team, they are also former SGI employees.
“Our customers are frequently highly skilled, technical IT professionals and we must have suitable sales staff on the team that customers’ trust, which maintains our successful consultative sales process,” says Steve Reynolds, sales director, OCF. “As OCF continues to expand we have taken the strategic decision to recruit technically competent professionals like Lindon and Keith before him to fulfill our sales function. As with Lindon, often this requires us to train and coach traditional pre-sale professionals into full sales professionals.”
Along with roles at Allinea Software and SGI, Lindon also previously worked as Worldwide Technical Training Manager at Adaptec and Technical Solutions Manager during a 13-year career with Xerox.
“OCF is taking its knowledge, skills and expertise in high-performance data processing, data management, storage and analysis and is successfully evolving it for non-traditional market sectors like finance and media,” says Lindon. “It already works with companies like BNP Paribas, RMS, Rushes, Tag and Smoke & Mirrors providing high-performance data management and data storage solutions built around IBM System x, IBM GPFS and IBM TSM. I’ll be planning to expand on this success.”
Through various roles, Lindon is well travelled and has worked in over 20 countries. He speaks four languages. He has an honours degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Essex. He also holds various vendor qualifications from Novell, IBM, VMware, BakBone and the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA).
