RAID Launches Fusion Server Solutions Powered by Latest Intel Romley Architecture
RAID Incorporated announced its next-generation FusionRomley server solutions featuring the latest Intel Xeon E5-2600 processor, better known as Sandy Bridge-EP.
This latest FusionRomley line of dual-socket server solutions provides breakthrough performance over its Xeon 5600 chip predecessors and has an enhanced memory subsystem for boosted bandwidth and integrated I/O. These Xeon E5-2600 processor servers are offered in 1U, 2U, 3U, and 4U form factors.
The servers have a new 8-core option and total bandwidth has been increased from previous generations with the inclusion of a 4th memory channel and support for 1600 MHz memory modules. With the addition of 32GB DIMM support, memory can reach 768GB. Unlike previous generations where I/O operations were managed by a different chip, the newly supported PCIe 3.0 chip functionality has been brought directly into the main processor. This I/O integration significantly reduces latency and improves data throughput.
"Our FusionRomley solutions are hard to beat because of their performance per watt and energy efficiency," said Dr. Ercan Kamber, CTO of RAID Inc. "The advanced designs and cutting-edge technology of these Intel Sandy Bridge-EP servers are a perfect fit for performance-intensive applications, striking a much-needed balance between high-quality and high-efficiency solutions."
