Active Archive Alliance Promotes Value of Active Archives
Industry Alliance Gears Up for SNW Spring and IEEE Conference on Massive Data Storage
The Active Archive Alliance announced today that it will be participating in SNW Spring, April 2-5, 2012 in Dallas, Texas and the IEEE Conference on Massive Data Storage (IEEE MSST), April 16-20, 2012 in Pacific Grove, California. The Active Archive Alliance will showcase the benefits and value of active archives in managing high capacity storage environments for Cloud, Big Data and High Performance Computing environments.
“Active archives are fast becoming the ‘next big thing’ in storage for companies that manage high-volume file storage environments or face exponential data growth,” said Molly Rector, executive vice president of product management and worldwide marketing at Spectra Logic and chairman of the board of the Active Archive Alliance. “Both SNW Spring and IEEE MSST provide great forums to help educate the market on the advantages of deploying active archive solutions as an integral part of an overall storage strategy. We are excited to offer users hands-on experience with an active archive to help them realize the benefits of moving to a new method of managing data growth within current budgets.”
SNW is the leading global event series focused on technologies to manage and optimize the information infrastructure across the data center and remote offices - from compute to network to storage. The Active Archive Alliance will be exhibiting in booth #A3 at the show and will also participate in the Hands-On Lab – Managing Big Data -- with executives from Spectra Logic and FileTek. The lab allows participants to interact with an active archive environment – demonstrating how to effectively manage growing data, how to gain control of backups, and exploring the benefits of active archive.
The 28th IEEE Conference on Massive Data Storage will dedicate a full week to computer storage technology and will highlight the latest research in the architecture, design, implementation, and evaluation of local and networked storage and parallel I/O systems. Alliance representatives from Spectra Logic, Fujifilm, and FileTek will be on hand to help educate attendees on the value of active archiving as a way to provide greater data access and reliability.
