Galtronics Launches High-Performance Outdoor DAS Antennas to Meet Growing Data Demands

Galtronics announced the launch of its EXTENT high-performance outdoor antenna products. The EXTENT product line is designed to help carriers and municipalities meet the rapidly rising demands for data volume and speed brought about by the increased use of 3G and 4G devices. With today’s announcement, Galtronics expands its leading position in providing innovative distributed antenna systems (DAS) antenna solutions of the highest quality and design.

The EXTENT line currently consists of two antennas that offer pseudo-omni radiation patterns accomplished by a unique tri-sector design with internal combiners, which delivers enhanced gain and superior coverage. The two offerings available in this product line include:

-- EXTENT P4912 covering 1710-2170 MHz; antenna size: 8” diameter and 48” height

-- EXTENT P4879 covering 698-960 MHz and 1710-2170 MHz; antenna size: 14” diameter and 48” height

The EXTENT P4879 multi-band antenna is the only outdoor DAS antenna on the market that provides high gain across the cellular bands including LTE in a 14” x 48” form factor. It enables neutral hosts to connect multiple carriers to the antenna. This ultimately results in significant capital expense reduction to the network owner as a well as operational cost savings to the network operator.

“At Galtronics, our quality DAS antennas provide the best performance size ratio required for changing communications needs,” said Ephraim Ulmer, president and CEO of Galtronics Corporation Ltd. “EXTENT delivers the wireless RF performance needed for today’s outdoor DAS networks in a small size and at a competitive price -- a significant bottom line value to our customers. This is another step in our quest to provide real innovation to the fast growing DAS market.”

Better Coverage for High-Volume Demand

Today’s smart phones, tablets and other 3G and 4G devices demand mobile data services and faster data rates. This increased demand impacts network capacity and performance. EXTENT delivers improved data throughput and connectivity, superior coverage and is scalable for 4G and LTE wireless networks. Mobile device users benefit from improved wireless connectivity, improving end-user experience and helping carriers and cellular service providers strengthen customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Other unique benefits offered by the EXTENT outdoor antenna line include the following:

-- Rugged for All Environmental Conditions. The EXTENT antenna is ruggedized and features advanced engineering that helps ensure its mechanical reliability in the face of hostile outdoor conditions including extreme wind and seismic tremors. EXTENT can survive in environments at -67 to +158 deg F (-55 to +70 deg C) and wind gusts at 125 mph (200 kph).

-- Unique Size Supports Zoning Requirements. EXTENT meets aesthetic and municipal zoning codes, helping national carriers obtain critical zoning approval.

-- Easy-to-install mounting brackets provide the needed flexibility to enable antenna alignment for improved network optimization.

“Galtronics antennas deliver great coverage for mobile users and can help national carriers support high-volume data demand in both outdoor and in-building wireless environments,” added Ulmer. “Our DAS antennas, both our EXTENT outdoor antennas and PEAR in-building products, are backed by our expertise in overall antenna system optimization and installation efficiency.”
