Myricom’s Extreme Performance Ethernet Adapters Enable Maxx Digital’s Storage Editing Solutions To Deliver Industry Leading Performance

Myricom announced that Maxx Digital, a leading provider of video and audio editing storage solutions is demonstrating Myricom’s Myri-10G extreme performance network adapters in its booth at NAB, Las Vegas Convention Center, April 16-19.

“Maxx Digital is excited to work with Myricom in putting together the highest performance and lowest cost shared storage solution in the industry,” said Ron Amborn, President of Maxx Digital. “Myricom’s 10-Gigabit Ethernet adapters provide the highest throughput performance of any Ethernet adapter test adapters we have tested.”

“After extensive testing of all 10-Gigabit Ethernet cards that are compatible with the Apple OS X Operating system, we have found that there is no card that can provide higher bandwidth for 10Gig direct connect from Mac to Mac than the Myricom 10GbE cards,” said Bob Zelin, Chief Design Applications Engineer at Maxx Digital.

At NAB Show, Maxx Digital will be showing a MAC Pro as a server and a second MAC Pro as a client, each with Myricom 10GbE adapters installed. The client will have an AJA capture card connected to a Red Digital Scarlet camera taking in a live video feed and transmitting it over 10 Gigabit Ethernet to the server that will store the video in a storage array for editing.

“Partnering with Maxx Digital allows Myricom to develop solutions that drive the next generation of innovation in content creation, management, distribution and delivery,” said Dr. Nan Boden, CEO of Myricom. “Myricom is committed to delivering Ethernet solutions for vertical applications like those we are demonstrating at NAB. By working closely with partners like Maxx Digital, we ensure that our solutions meet the customers’ critical requirements today and in the future.”
