NYSE Technologies Introduces the Capital Markets Community Platform to Europe
NYSE Technologies announced the global expansion of its successful Capital Markets Community Platform into Europe. Operating from NYSE Euronext’s European Liquidity Centre in Basildon (UK), the cloud based Community Platform was designed and developed in partnership with leading computing experts EMC and VMware.
NYSE Technologies’ Capital Markets Community Platform was designed to increase business agility, simplify market access and reduce trading friction by utilising rapid on-demand computing resources. Originally launched on 1 July 2011 from NYSE Euronext’s U.S. Liquidity Centre in Mahwah (New Jersey), this is the first cloud based capital markets community platform developed exclusively for the financial services industry.
Offering a range of services, customers are able to easily purchase the computing power they need, at any time, so they can focus on their core business strategy rather than complex IT infrastructure design and maintenance. The cloud based Community Platform provides direct, on-demand access to the NYSE Technologies portfolio of high-performance, low-latency services including SuperfeedSM; Managed Transaction Hub; and the Secure Financial Transactions Infrastructure (SFTI) network. The Capital Markets Community Platform and all related services are delivered over SFTI, with the scalability and reliability of NYSE Technologies’ regulated and transparent service model. Also, SFTI allows global customers to access the exchange’s regional markets in Europe and the U.S. through the Community Platform.
“Market leading innovations such as NYSE Technologies’ Capital Markets Community Platform provide solutions that will drive efficiencies in the capital markets at a critical time, and help our customers unlock their potential. The introduction of the cloud based Community Platform to Europe further extends our revolutionary service to a broader customer base and by utilising our resources and networks it allows us to expand our virtual capital markets community,” said Dominique Cerutti, President & Deputy Chief Executive Officer, NYSE Euronext. “In partnership with EMC and VMware, our cloud based capital markets community platformempowers market participants, who are looking to reduce their IT infrastructure costs as well as gain rapid access to global markets and market information.”
“EMC worked with NYSE Technologies to first launch the Capital Markets Community Platform in the U.S. in 2011, and we are pleased to help bring that same level of expertise and innovative service provision to the European financial services community,” said Rainer Erlat, Chief Operating Officer EMEA & Chairman, EMC International. “Customers now have a community cloud platform at their fingertips, designed with the financial sector’s specific needs and requirements in mind and underpinned by an enterprise-class IT infrastructure built on EMC’s industry-leading technology.”
“The VMware vCloud platform enables customers to run business-critical applications in a secure and flexible hybrid cloud,” said Maurizio Carli, Senior Vice President and General Manager, VMware EMEA. “We are thrilled that NYSE Technologies is broadening the reach of its Capital Markets Community Platform to Europe. Cloud providers who avoid a ‘one size fits all’ approach and solve critical infrastructure problems for their communities can deliver greater business value – lowering capital and operating costs while increasing IT agility, responsiveness and performance.”
NYSE Technologies’ cloud based Capital Markets Community Platform addresses the unique performance and security requirements of the exchange’s customers and the financial services community; and has been beta testing with several customers around the world, including GF Futures Hong Kong, and several others.
Dr. XIAO Cheng, General Manager of GF Futures, said: “We are pleased to be the first Asian customers utilising the NYSE Technologies European Capital Markets Community Cloud Platform. The global nature of the Community Platform, with its sophisticated and secure IT infrastructure, reflects the worldwide nature of the capital markets and provides choice and freedom for organisations like our own to operate and trade efficiently and competitively in a global marketplace.”
