SolidFire Selected as a Red Herring Top 100 North America Tech Startup

SolidFire announced that the company has been named a Red Herring Top 100 Americas award recipient. Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration. This was complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers. SolidFire also garnered local recognition last week as a Colorado Company to Watch, an award that acknowledges the dedication and contribution of SolidFire as a growing company in the state.

“We are pleased to recognize SolidFire for its outstanding contributions to the exciting start-up community in Boulder, Colorado,” said Sam Bailey, Colorado Companies to Watch program director. Colorado Companies to Watch honors companies that develop valuable products and services, create quality jobs, enrich communities and create new industries throughout Colorado.

“Choosing the companies with the strongest potential was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across North America to the Top 100 winners. We believe SolidFire embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. SolidFire should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was very strong.”

“Colorado and the Front Range have exceptional technical talent and a deep storage history. We launched SolidFire as a company in June of last year and have grown to more than 50 employees since then,” said Dave Wright, founder and CEO of SolidFire. “We are excited be ranked among the top companies in the country and one of the top here in Colorado. SolidFire is at the convergence of two of the hottest segments in the market today: solid state storage and cloud computing. We continue to grow our sales, marketing, and engineering teams and are currently hiring at our Boulder headquarters!”

Red Herring’s Top 100 Americas list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay would change the way we live and work.
