Highlights from the International Supercomputing Conference Stream Live via Video Blogs

If you can’t make it to Hamburg for ISC’10, the 25th International Supercomputing Conference, you can still catch some of the program highlights via live streaming over the web.

In addition, ISC’10 will be producing a daily video blog highlighting the newest, coolest and most informative discoveries and developments of each day and posting them on the ISC’10 website. ISC’10 will be held May 30 – June 3 in the Congress Center Hamburg.

The ISC’10 live videos will be streamed over the University of Hamburg web site.

The first live session will be the ISC’10 Opening Session beginning at 11:25 a.m. Monday, May 31 (CET). The session will include Highlights of the 35th TOP500 List (11:25-11:50 a.m.) and the Opening Keynote Address on “HPC Technology: Scale-Up & Scale-Out” by Kirk B. Skaugen, the Vice President of Intel Architecture Group and General Manager of the Data Center Group, Intel.

From 2:30-4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, and Wednesday, June 2 (CET), ISC’10 will stream its unique Hot Seat Sessions – to-the-point presentations by industry powerhouses and supercomputing centers in Europe, Asia and North America. Each speaker has 10 minutes to present their organization’s newest strategy, product or research developments. A panel of expert “inquisitors” then asks each speaker two in-depth, follow-up questions. The speakers have only five minutes to offer their responses — on the spot in front of an expected 2,000 attendees.

“Although not everyone can join us at CCH they can all simultaneously catch-up on the fundamental developments for 2010 and also gain helpful tips from system developers and vendors, thanks to this joint-cooperation with the University of Hamburg,” said ISC Executive Director Martin Meuer.“ We launched this project during ISC’09 and the positive reaction from viewers has encouraged us to once more combine efforts.”

Still Time to Register and Attend

Advance registration for this year’s conference is also outpacing past year’s figures by more than 27 percent, given that the conference program highlights current and future topics that have been carefully selected by an international committee of HPC experts. Talks on these topics will be delivered by over 200 world-class speakers.

This year’s event will also include the Exhibitor Forums and launch the first of the kind HPC Start-Up Forums.

Achieving a 26 percent increase in exhibitor numbers, the ISC’10 exhibition hall will be filled with 149 leading HPC manufacturers, researchers and start-ups demonstrating latest systems, services and applications in high performance computing, networking and storage. Learn more about this year's extensive line-up of exhibitors and about each exhibitor's area of expertise here.

All attendees registered for the ISC conference program are also admitted to the exhibition. Additionally, Exhibition and Exhibition Afternoon Passes are available for those who only want to visit the exhibition. Full details on Exhibition Passes.
