Virtuon Unveils New Technology Center in Scottsdale

Virtuon announced today it will unveil a new technology center focused on cloud computing and virtualization on April 28. The event will involve a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane, Virtuon executives, state and community dignitaries, and other Arizona-based technology companies.

The new center will be housed at Arizona State University SkySong and will display state-of-the-art cloud computing and virtualization applications, including virtual data centers.  The center will provide an opportunity for students from surrounding educational institutions to experiment first-hand with these latest technologies, test new ideas, and come to understand how these concepts are reducing energy consumption and improving uptime within our communities.

“This new center is unparalleled in its scope and mission, which is to educate the public about cloud computing technology and the ways to implement these innovative solutions,” said Forrest Blair, CEO of Virtuon. “Businesses in industries from banking and government to healthcare and manufacturing are employing cloud computing and virtualization in order to cut significant IT infrastructure costs, reduce energy consumption, and react quicker than their competition.”

The event will be held on April 28, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m, and will include tours, food, and technology demos from Virtuon and other local companies such as CoreLink Skybucket3D, Data Robotics, Cynature, and Arizona Security. The event will also include presentations from ASU professors doing cloud-computing research. The center will officially open the doors for Virtuon and will be a technology asset and education center within the community.  Virtuon and the center are located directly off the main lobby of the SkySong North building in Suite 140 and will initially take up a portion of the 5,000 square foot center.
