SpectraEDGE Channel Program Boosts Co-Marketing and Growth of Reseller Network

Spectra Logic today announced that Molly Rector has been named a 2010 Channel Chief by the Everything Channel’s CRN. Channel Chiefs are leaders in creating effective channel programs for solution providers.  They consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies.

Spectra Logic delivers high value solutions to customers through its channel partners. Under Rector’s leadership, Spectra Logic launched its SpectraEDGE channel program in July 2008, and its membership base has grown to more than 400 partners worldwide, with notable growth in Canada, Europe, North and South America. The innovative SpectraEDGE program includes VAR education and engagement programs, a new line of disk-based data protection solutions and a vertical market program. In addition to customized partner training, Spectra Logic invested in the development of a six-month recruiting effort for bringing on channel partners and preparing them for success with the Spectra Logic product line. SpectraEDGE channel partners also benefit from in-depth training for system engineers and sales staff, and increased joint end-user events, product promotion campaigns and co-marketing programs.

“The data protection and archive market has changed and we’ve gone above and beyond to consistently provide our partners with unique revenue opportunities,” state Molly Rector, vice president of marketing and product management, Spectra Logic.  “Our primary focus is to give our partners the right solutions and tools to succeed.  We continue to deliver solutions that meet today’s demand for large and mid-range data backup, archive and deduplication solutions, with strong offerings aimed at the HPC, broadcast and federal sectors.”

For the eighth consecutive year the Channel Chiefs were chosen based by Everything Channel editorial on criteria including policy and program innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue their company generates through partners, their willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they have dedicated to channel activities.

“Being named a Channel Chief is one of the most prestigious honors in the IT industry.  This year’s Channel Chiefs offers tremendous insight into the who’s who of the Channel,” said Kelley Damore, VP, Editorial Director, Everything Channel. “Top channel executives consistently ensure that the Channel’s voice is heard when strategic decisions are being made and continually nurture mutually profitable relationships.  We applaud the 2010 Channel Chiefs for their successful partner programs and strategies.”
