LSU, Tulane Faculty Partner to Host 'Scientific Computing Around Louisiana'

LSU’s Center for Computation & Technology, or CCT, and Tulane University’s Center for Computational Science will co-sponsor Scientific Computing Around Louisiana, or SCALA, on the LSU campus Feb. 5 and 6.

SCALA is an inaugural meeting to highlight cutting-edge topics in scientific computing, showcase research in this area that is taking place in Louisiana, and to promote collaborations across the state.

Susanne C. Brenner, CCT and LSU Department of Mathematics, and Lisa J. Fauci of Tulane University are organizing this meeting, which they hope will become an annual event.

SCALA will feature invited presenters, talks and contributed posters. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, and run through late afternoon on Saturday, Feb. 6.

Faculty, postdoctoral researchers or students from colleges and universities in or around Louisiana are welcome to attend the inaugural SCALA meeting. Registration is free, but required.
