SGI Names Vincent Scarpulla to Run Americas Commercial Sales

Industry Veteran Charged with Accelerating Sales in Commercial Markets in the U.S., Canada and Latin America

SGI today announced the addition of Vincent J. Scarpulla as vice president of Americas commercial sales. With a background spanning more than 30 years of sales, service and management roles across hardware, software and services product portfolios, Scarpulla will drive SGI’s U.S. commercial sales strategy, and will have primary responsibility for all sales and relationship activities for vertical markets, including: Internet, financial services, oil and gas, media and entertainment, and manufacturing. In addition, Scarpulla will lead the company’s overall sales efforts in Canada and Latin America.

“Scarpulla’s proven sales leadership experience in the technology industry makes him the ideal person to expand SGI’s customer base in some of the industry’s fastest growing markets,” said Tony Carrozza, senior vice president of worldwide sales at SGI. “His significant experience in field operations, sales and management will be a valuable asset to SGI as we continue to grow our customer base and vertical reach.”

Scarpulla comes to SGI from Verari Systems, where he served as vice president of worldwide field operations. He was responsible for overall company sales and customer service. Prior to Verari Systems, Scarpulla worked as vice president of North American enterprise sales for Legato Systems, Inc. and EMC Corporation.

Scarpulla has held additional executive sales positions, including vice president of North American sales at Entrust Corporation, and vice president and general manager of North American operations at Amdahl Corporation. Scarpulla holds a B.S. degree in Finance from the University of South Carolina and will report to Carrozza.
