SunGard Named a Finalist in Microsoft's 2009 Worldwide Partner Conference Awards

SunGard was selected as a 2009 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference Awards finalist in the Global ISV Industry Partner of the Year category.  The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions over the past year.

Don Wood, chief information officer of SunGard Financial Systems, said, "Many SunGard solutions leverage Microsoft technology to develop and extend functionality for financial institutions.  SunGard's iWorks provides key solutions using Microsoft's Business Intelligence platform and Microsoft Windows HPC Server 2008 to help insurers make better business decisions, reduce costs and risk, and remain competitive.  SunGard's Ambit corporate banking, risk and performance management solutions leverage Microsoft .NET technology to develop solutions that help our customers with greater efficiency, lower costs and optimized system performance. Recent performance testing, conducted in conjunction with Microsoft, has demonstrated Ambit's impressive scalability in large grid computing environments to deliver intensive analyses of large financial balance sheets in a timely manner. In addition, SunGard's Adaptiv risk management solutions use Microsoft .NET and SQL Server Analysis Services to provide the right combination of execution, speed and flexibility as well as meet specific customer requirements for navigating risk results."

Awards were presented in a number of categories, with winners chosen from a pool of nearly 2,000 entrants worldwide.  The Global ISV Industry Partner of the Year award is given to a global ISV partner that has demonstrated application leadership in any of the following sectors: Public, Communications, Manufacturing and Resources, Financial Services, and Distribution and Services. The award acknowledges the partner that has demonstrated excellence in driving Microsoft-based solutions that solve new or existing business needs for the industry.  The award winner is recognized as the most valuable global ISV partner in developing and delivering Microsoft-based solutions to mutual customers in the industry.
