Totalview technologies announces marketing teaming Agreement With IBM for Totalview on blue Gene/p

TotalView Technologies and IBM to participate in joint marketing and training activities

TotalView Technologies, a provider of interactive analysis and debugging tools for serial and parallel codes, today announced a strategic Teaming Agreement with IBM to jointly market the TotalView debugger on the IBM Blue Gene/P platform.  Having worked together since 1995, the companies will promote the use of the TotalView debugger on the Blue Gene/P platform through collaboration in marketing activities.  TotalView Technologies will provide IBM with sales training on the benefits of debugging with TotalView.

TotalView is a comprehensive source code analysis and memory error detection tool that dramatically enhances developer productivity by simplifying the process of debugging parallel, data-intensive, multi-process, multi-threaded or network-distributed applications. Built to handle the complexities of the world’s most demanding applications, TotalView offers a number of advanced features that help speed development and eliminate bugs quickly, and is capable of scaling to thousands of processes or threads with applications distributed over multiple machines or processors. Already installed on dozens of Blue Gene/P systems at numerous customer sites, TotalView supports advanced features on the platform, like asynchronous control of threads, OpenMP, and threads.

Our ongoing relationship with IBM will build on our demonstrated success with Blue Gene/P in the high-performance computing arena, said TotalView Technologies’ Jim Chafel, vice-president of business development.  “TotalView on Blue Gene/P offers a premier environment for accelerating application development and time-to-market.

TotalView’s complete support of IBM Blue Gene/P systems is an excellent option for clients,” said David Turek, vice president, IBM Deep Computing.  “This combined technology, along with joint training and other collaboration can provide our Blue Gene customers with code debugging options.”
