Liquid Computing appoints Rick Timmins to Board of Directors

Former Cisco executive to provide strategic guidance for leading fabric computing company: Liquid Computing Inc., developer of LiquidIQ, the industry-leading fabric computing system, today announced the appointment of Rick Timmins to the company’s Board of Directors. In this role, Timmins will draw on more than 33 years of experience in finance management for global technology leaders to provide business oversight and strategic financial guidance for Liquid Computing. “Liquid Computing holds a unique position in the market as the first company to put forward a truly merged communications and computing platform, meeting a critical need of enterprises to fully optimize resources,” said Timmins. “The LiquidIQ technology, with its unmatched business cost benefits, offers an appealing value proposition for organizations looking to maximize their investments. I am honored to offer my extensive past Board experience serving technology companies to Liquid Computing. ” Previously, Timmins served as vice president of finance at Cisco Systems, Inc., where he worked to provide customers and partners with a thorough understanding of the company’s finance practices and led finance leadership development efforts. Prior to Cisco, Timmins was responsible for all financial aspects of international manufacturing, design, sales and marketing at Motorola Semiconductors. In this position, he was heavily involved in the development of Motorola’s cellular operations in Japan, growing the business from $300 million to over $2 billion. “Rick’s fiscal insight, particularly his operational expertise in the networking and telecommunications industries, will lend invaluable perspective to our Board,” said Brian Hurley, CEO, Liquid Computing. “His financial acumen will help propel the company to reach our strong financial goals as we move into position as a major player in the market.” Timmins serves on the Board of Directors of Ultratech Inc. and Transmeta Corporation. In addition, he is a member of the M.B.A. Advisory Board for the University of Arizona’s Business School and the St. Edward’s University Advisory Board in Austin, Texas. Timmons holds an M.B.A. from St. Edward’s University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
