TotalView Technologies, James River Technical partner in the North American higher education market

JRTI to Provide TotalView Products and Services to Academic Community

- TotalView Technologies Inc. (TotalView) and James River Technical, Inc. (JRTI) today announced a partnership to serve the Higher Education market with professional sales and support, effective immediately. With this announcement, JRTI will become TotalView’s partner for the Academic sector in North America. Totalview Technologies has embarked on a long-term, comprehensive Strategic Academic Program for working with the Higher Education community, particularly in the area of parallel development, and this partnership with James River Technical is one more step in the execution of that strategy.

TotalView’s sourcecode and memory debugging tools, now coupled with the revolutionary ReplayEngine and already valued by software developers writing parallel code, are becoming essential to university researchers and faculty teaching parallel code development.

James River Technical is pleased to partner with TotalView in the higher education space,” said Tom Mountcastle, president of JRTI. “Our specialization in this market, where we are offering leading edge HPC solutions to speed time to discovery, is further complimented by TotalView's robust products. We have had a productive history with TotalView, and in this new partnership we are looking forward to managing the transition of their current Academic programs and extending the reach of their offerings. Many of the universities in North America are mutual clients who are accustomed to our commitment to client service, and we fully expect that level of support to continue.”

“We launched the Strategic Academic Program including our free software for students and aggressive discounts in response to growing concern about the impact of the many-core chips soon to be in HPC hardware offerings. The many-core challenge is one that must be addressed by skilled software developers with parallel development expertise, in relatively short supply today. We’ve taken this initiative to assist our university partners in meeting that challenge,” said Rich Collier, CEO, TotalView. “JRTI has an excellent reputation for providing and supporting high-performance computing (HPC) solutions to the North American academic community and we are pleased to have them as our preferred partner.”
