Greg Young joins Luxtera as President and CEO
Former Top Broadcom Executive to Spearhead New Era for the Company: Luxtera Inc., the world leader in CMOS Photonics, today announced the appointment of Greg Young as its new President and CEO, a move that comes during a time of key accomplishments. Luxtera recently announced Blazar, the world's first CMOS Photonics commercial device, a 40 Gigabit Optical Active Cable. Mr. Young will lead Luxtera as it moves from a technology research phase to product deployment.
Mr. Young is a seasoned professional with over 15 years experience in the semiconductor industry and a proven track record of growing profitable businesses in highly competitive markets. Prior to joining Luxtera, Mr. Young was employed by Broadcom, where he held the position of Vice President and General Manager of the Ethernet Controller and High Definition Media PC Video business units. While at Broadcom, Mr. Young was responsible for growing the controller business from concept to hundreds of millions in revenue, and achieving the number one market share position. Prior to joining Broadcom, he worked for Intel, where he held several leadership engineering and marketing positions. Mr. Young succeeds Alex Dickinson, who will remain on the board of directors. With his leadership track record and market expertise, Mr. Young will guide the company as it applies its technology to the networking and consumer electronics markets. “As Luxtera enters a new era, I look forward to taking the company to the next level by developing a robust and profitable market around our breakthrough technology,” said Young. “I would like to thank Alex for his leadership which positioned Luxtera and its products years ahead of the competition.
