Isilon Systems today announced that MySpace, the premier lifestyle portal, has made an initial deployment of 20 Terabytes of Isilon IQ clustered storage to meet the substantial media consumption demands of its more than 40 million members. With explosive growth in its number of users and their time spent on the site, MySpace has rocketed to an elite position as the third ranked site in terms of page views in October 2005, according to comScore Media Metrix. In order to accommodate the 24x7 user consumption of its wide ranging catalog of media content and user profiles, MySpace selected Isilon IQ clustered storage to provide the extreme levels of scalability and performance needed to fuel its growth while dramatically reducing IT administration and costs.
