Scali and SilverStorm Technologies, the leader in high performance interconnect solutions for clustered networks, today announced an OEM partnership. Scali’s MPI Connect message passing interface (MPI) solution will be embedded in SilverStorm’s QuickSilver FastFabric software toolkit to boost the performance of Linux-based compute clusters. This announcement marks a new strategic partnership for Scali and SilverStorm and one which will include cooperation on technology development, marketing and customer support. “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Scali,” said Reini Florin, SilverStorm’s vice president of marketing. “We have done extensive testing and benchmarking together and the combination of Scali MPI and SilverStorm InfiniBand-based solutions results in industry leading performance. This strategic partnership will extend our overall offering by delivering a best in breed solution to our customers who will benefit from increased application performance and reliability.” Scali MPI Connect is a fully integrated MPI solution for building high performance clusters. The MPI delivers high bandwidth, low latency performance to clusters through communication libraries that enable high performance execution of applications designed for parallelism and portability. SilverStorm provides a suite of end-to-end networking solutions for high performance business computing environments. Its InfiniBand-based products include switches, host channel adapters (HCAs), switch gateways, and a suite of fabric access and management software. SilverStorm’s 9000 series switch gateway is the industry’s highest port density solution.
