Platform Computing Hosts 5 of the Top 20 Investment Banks

Platform Computing completed on Friday, June 10th, its first Financial Services Customer Advisory Council. At the Council, hosted at JP Morgan Chase, senior management from eight major investment banking and insurance firms came together to explore the future of grid technology in the financial services industry and to discuss their achievements, best practices and requirements going forward. The Council was held in Manhattan and ran from June 9th through June 10th. Grid computing is growing rapidly in capital markets as firms grapple with the challenges of increasingly complex calculations, and shorter times in which to execute them. All of the major players now have grid computing pilots either in production, or under serious study. However, as these firms move beyond the first pilots into broader deployment of grids, institution- specific issues arise. The Customer Advisory Council provides a forum in which customers can exchange insights and experiences while providing strategic feedback to Platform Computing on its Financial Services grid vision. At the completion of the Council, Mr. Christian Joannes of Societe Generale Group's Corporate and Investment Banking organization observed: "SGCIB was very pleased to attend Platform Computing's Financial Services Customer Advisory Council. The meeting offered the right balance of discussion between the strategy for Platform Computing's approach and customers' experiences with the implementation of grid in Financial Services. The quality and relevance of materials was high and the information gathered will certainly assist us in articulating our strategy and roadmap for the next coming months. This Council is also a forum for open discussions between clients. We certainly intend to be present at the next event."
