Quadrics Ltd, a leading supplier of high speed interconnect products today announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with STMicroelectronics, one of the world's largest semiconductor manufacturers, to cooperate on the development of high performance communications products. The cooperation will cover the design of future generations of Quadrics high speed multi gigabit interconnect ICs, and the exploitation of the products in a range of high volume applications. The new generation of QsNet products will continue Quadrics tradition of supplying the highest performance interconnect technology for massively parallel computer systems, while at the same time offering compliance with emerging standards, such as 10 gigabit Ethernet. The resulting products will address a wider range of applications in the networking and high end server markets.
