Scale Eight Names Melinda Gross as Vice President of Worldwide Sales

SAN FRANCISCO -- Scale Eight(TM) Inc. announced that Melinda Gross has been named as vice president of worldwide sales for Scale Eight's network-attached storage (NAS) product family. Ms. Gross, a veteran of Network Appliance, Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI), and Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), brings over 20 years of data storage and systems sales experience to Scale Eight. "Scale Eight's NAS products are particularly well suited to industries where Melinda has an outstanding track record," said Bo Ewald, president and CEO, Scale Eight. Ms. Gross' career spans over 20 years at companies that pioneered high-performance computing and storage systems sales into the most demanding user communities. At Network Appliance, Ms. Gross managed her team to grow sales over 500% in just two years. Prior to that, she spent eight years at SGI, where she spearheaded sales of high-end server and storage systems into several new vertical markets, including film, entertainment, manufacturing, and technical computing environments. In addition, she spent over ten years at Digital, working extensively with the biotechnology market as well as government organizations including Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She earned numerous sales awards at all three organizations and was named to "Who's Who in Sales and Marketing Executives."
